What is the Gearstick Garage

We have setup the Gearstick Garage to provide regional professional artists with an opportunity to engage with ideas and issues with aim of building, highly theatrical, entertaining and accessible work that can be presented in a wide range of venues including community venues with limited theatrical infrastructure. The Gearstick Garage is a flexible environment that allows a project to join the process at any stage. Some projects will be built from the very beginning by simply gathering a group of artists together who have an interest in creating new work to look at a them to see what they can come up with. in other instances artists may approach us with an idea, a first draft or a project that simply needs a final polish before going in to production. The common elements of all garage projects are exciting and interesting ideas.
