Cabaret Workshop

Gearstick Is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a Cabaret Performance workshop with Mark Jones and the 'Butterfly Club' from Australian Cabaret Enterprises on November 24^th 2009.

The Workshop

The workshop will look at developing skills in cabaret performance, the construction of cabaret and also providing opportunities for career development in the cabaret scene in Australia. It will be a hands on workshop where participants will have the opportunity to work on their own ideas and explore how they might be crafted into an exciting new cabaret performance; all the while developing their own skills.

Who are Australian Cabaret Enterprises?

Australian Cabaret Enterprises is the home of all things Cabaret including:

The multi-award winning cabaret venue The Butterfly Club. Based in South Melbourne and founded in 1999. The Butterfly Club features an ever-changing program of cabaret performances and functions;
On The Wing Touring that draws on an extensive stable of leading performers to present cabaret performances to a wide variety of audiences. Since 2005 On The Wing Touring has toured numerous shows (including Tim Minchin, Bob Downe and Dave Graney) to venues / festivals including the Sydney Opera House, Adelaide Cabaret Festival and Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
