Gearstick Theatre

Presents

Cabaret Workshop

Gearstick Is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a Cabaret Performance workshop  with Mark Jones and the 'Butterfly Club' from Australian Cabaret Enterprises on November 24th 2009.

The Workshop

The workshop will look at developing skills in cabaret performance, the construction of cabaret and also providing opportunities for career development in the cabaret scene in Australia. It will be a hands on workshop where participants will have the opportunity to work on their own ideas  and explore how they might be crafted into an exciting new cabaret performance; all the while developing their own skills.

Barking Spider Workshops

Over the Labour Day long weekend Gearstick was delighted to host Penelope Bartlau and Jason Lehane from Barking Spider Visual Theatre for workshops on new work creation.

Participants had the privilege of working with Penelope and Jason over the long weekend to take something that were obsessed by (an image, a thought, a dream or even something that they find themselves thinking about on a regular basis) and begin to turn that in to a piece of theatre. Over the course of the workshop some very exciting ideas began to take shape and we hope to continue the development of these pieces and to continue to work with Barking Spider. So keep an eye out for that.
