Gearstick Embarks on Theatre in Education

Gearstick Theatre is set to take on the challenge of providing professional, entertaining and educational productions to the schools of Wagga and the Riverina, with the launch of their new program: 2nd Gear – Theatre in Education.  New member Kristil-Rae Mobbs, with a strong background in teaching, drama and the development of youth theatre, is the group’s new team member, assuming the position of Theatre in Education Officer.

2nd Gear Theatre in Education is the second initiative to be launch by the theatre company this year, following the launch of 1st Gear (their children’s Theatre Program) in January.

“This year we are excited to be implementing strong programs that meet specific needs within the community, which also develop opportunities for professional artists in the region.” Creative producer, Craig Higgs.

The Theatre in Education program will kick off with a production of Irreconcilable Differences a compilation of Shakespeare scenes chronicling the chaotic and sometimes tumultuous world of relationships. The production will tour to schools during Term 2.
