Fat Men in Skirts

Oedipus meets Equus with a dash of Macbeth with in Nicky Silver's darkly comical and deeply moving, FAT MEN IN SKIRTS.

After their plane crashes, Phyllis, and her son, Bishop, are stranded on a desert island for five years. During their stay, Bishop is transformed from a stuttering, Katherine Hepburn-obsessed little
boy, in to a feral savage and, left to fend for themselves, they dine on the bodies of those less fortunate.

Performing 30 September and 1, 6, 7, 8 October at 8pm with an added matinee at 2pm on 8 October at The North Wagga Hall

What is Gearstick?

 

Gearstick Theatre

Gearstick Theatre is a Wagga based Not-for-Profit Organisation dedicated to creating professional theatre for regional audiences. Founded in 2002 by Michelle Gaul and Craig Higgs, Gearstick began as a touring Theatre Co-operative of Graduates from the Acting and Design Courses at Charles Sturt University, Wagga.

Since its inception Gearstick has; created over twenty productions, secured funding from Local and State Government and the Private Sector, developed a solid audience base in a variety of demographics and is beginning to develop a profile in the national arts community as a leading provider of professional theatre in Regional Australia.

With a particular focus on the creation of new work and an eclectic blend of productions including; contemporary plays, self-devised pieces, Shakespeare, adaptations, children’s theatre, storytelling and street theatre - Gearstick has performed in Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and throughout Regional NSW.
